Da Nang has officially announced the organization of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026, DIFF 2026, under Plan No. 34/KH-UBND as approved. The event is hosted by the Da Nang People’s Committee in coordination with relevant departments and agencies, with Sun Group serving as the sponsor and implementing partner. DIFF 2026 is scheduled to take place from May 30 to July 11, 2026, under the theme “Da Nang – United Horizons – Những chân trời kết nối”.
According to the approved plan, DIFF 2026 is positioned as a major international cultural and tourism event, continuing to promote Da Nang as a leading festival and events destination in the region, while stimulating tourism and services during the peak summer season. The festival also carries particular significance as it aligns with a new phase of urban expansion and regional connectivity following the city’s spatial development.
An unpredictable showdown among 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries
A major highlight of DIFF 2026 is the large-scale competition featuring 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries and territories, including Vietnam, China, Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Japan, Macau, China, and Australia. Notably, this season marks the debut of four first-time participants, expected to bring fresh performance styles and greater diversity, enriching the artistic identity of DIFF.

The summer sky of Da Nang is set to open up new “connected horizons” with 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries around the world.
Among them, Vietnam is represented by two teams, the Da Nang Fireworks Team and Z21 Vina Pyrotech, continuing to serve as a bridge between local identity and international fireworks schools. The combination of seasoned names and newcomers is expected to create a competition season full of discovery, surprise, and emotional impact.
As approved, DIFF 2026 will unfold over six competition nights, each with its own theme, yet connected through a unified narrative reflecting Da Nang’s development journey and its integration with Quang Nam. The themes explore the city’s core values, from nature and heritage to culture, creativity, and vision, culminating in the grand finale titled “Da Nang – United Horizons”.
Traditionally, the opening night on May 30, themed “Nature”, will feature a face-off between the host team, Da Nang, Vietnam, and China. Night two on June 6, themed “Heritage”, will see France compete against Z21 Vina Pyrotech, Vietnam. Night three on June 13, themed “Culture”, will bring together first-time participant Japan and the experienced Italian team. Night four on June 20, themed “Creativity”, will feature Germany versus Macau, China. Night five, themed “Vision”, will see Australia compete against Portugal. The grand finale will take place on July 11 under the main theme “Da Nang – United Horizons”.
According to many experts, the participation of two major fireworks powerhouses, Macau, China, and Japan, is expected to significantly raise the level of competition and excitement at DIFF 2026.
This year, the champion team will receive a prize of USD 20,000, along with a trophy and certificate. The runner-up will be awarded USD 10,000, a trophy, and a certificate. Additional awards include the Audience Favorite Award, voted by spectators, worth USD 5,000 and a certificate; the Creativity Award, USD 5,000 and a certificate; and the Promising Team Award, also USD 5,000 and a certificate.

DIFF 2026 as the nucleus of a city-wide summer festival season
DIFF 2026 continues to play a central role in connecting a wide range of cultural, festival, and entertainment activities throughout the summer in Da Nang. Technology remains a key element in enhancing audience experience. DIFF 2026 will apply Sky AR technology, allowing viewers to interact directly with the fireworks sky and personalize their experience on individual devices. Laser LED systems will project lighting effects across the Han River and surrounding buildings, transforming the festival space into a multi-dimensional stage. Real-time sound technology will ensure audiences can fully enjoy synchronized music and fireworks from any location within the event area.
A season that goes beyond a fireworks festival
Beyond the fireworks competition nights, DIFF 2026 serves as the core of an extended summer festival season, featuring a wide array of cultural, artistic, sports, and entertainment activities running throughout the event period.
The city plans to host numerous large-scale companion events with rich content and high interactivity. Notable examples include River Fest, Beer Fest, and a series of experiences within the Sun Paradise Land ecosystem, turning the entire city into a continuous, immersive experience space.
Amid the vibrant festival atmosphere, Da Nang also offers diverse exploration options for visitors on non-fireworks days. Sun World Ba Na Hills stands out as a key destination, where summer 2026 will continue to buzz with beer festivals, spectacular art shows, nighttime entertainment, and European-style architecture set among the clouds.

Sun World Ba Na Hills comes alive with a festive summer atmosphere, featuring dynamic art performances set against a European-inspired setting atop the mountain.
Alongside this, familiar yet ever-refreshing journeys such as sunrise walks along My Khe Beach, exploring the Son Tra Peninsula, visiting My Son Sanctuary, immersing oneself in the cultural flow of Hoi An Ancient Town, or simply spending a leisurely afternoon at riverside cafes along the Han River, all contribute to a portrait of Da Nang that balances festival energy with an easygoing lifestyle.
In the summer sky above the Han River, each burst of fireworks will not only illuminate a fleeting moment, but also reflect the spirit of exchange, integration, and aspiration of a city confidently stepping into a new chapter, where horizons are no longer limits, but invitations to explore.
